Another leak at the long-term care facility in Tillsonburg blamed on a faulty valve
Woodingford Lodge in Tillsonburg has sustained more water damage, this time from a leak in the fire sprinkler system.
Oxford County says workers were on site at the time of the incident Friday afternoon and they were able to contain the damage.
All 32 residents of the long-term care facility were displaced in January after a pipe burst and caused extensive water damage.
Prior to this second flood Woodingford had been aiming to welcome residents to return home by mid-March and staff are working to meet that deadline.
"We're aiming for that pending what comes from the investigation and what still needs to be done. If it takes a little bit longer, then that's what it will need to take in order to feel condident that we're making the right choices, but we're still gearing for that mid-March date," said Corrie Fransen, the director of the three Woodingford Lodge sites, which operates from Tillsonburg as well as Ingersol and Woodstock.
"We have our investigation continueing this weekend, we need to know what is causing the problem and that is it repaired, Fransen said.
Fransen said the scope of damage in this second flood was not as wide as the January flood and was mostly limited to ceiling tiles.
