Girls hockey are looking to update their hockey wardrobe and hope to raise the funds through their golf tournament.
WOODSTOCK -- The Woodstock Wildcats are moving from the rink to the links.
The league is hosting their 2nd Annual Wildcats Golf Tournament June 21st at the Woodstock Meadows.
Fundraising Director, Brian Kittmer says the teams are looking to update their hockey wardrobe. "We're looking to update our jerseys. We've got jerseys that are going into their 8th season and they're getting a little worn so that's our main goal for fundraising right now cause it costs around $20,000 to replace a full set of jerseys for 10 teams."
The league is also revamping their look according to Kittmer. "We're picking a new logo for our girl's hockey association. There's an ad running in the paper right now with all the logos and people can go and email their selection. The new logo will be announced on Saturday, June 21st at the golf tournament."
The tournament is a shotgun start at 8:00 am with a $60 entry fee that includes golfing and a light lunch. The day also includes a "Happy Gilmore" putting contest to help raise some additional funds.
