WFD Battles Fire on Dundas

A building on Dundas Street was the scene of a fire. The Woodstock Fire Department responded and were able to put out the flames, which were inside a wall.

WOODSTOCK - Firefighters in Woodstock battled a blaze on Dundas Street.

Deputy Fire Chief, Trevor Shea says crews arrived to the scene to help with the incident.

"It appears there was some working being done on an address on Dundas Street by some contractors, a renovation I believe. And, apart of their activities caused a fire in the structure."

Shea adds, it was not a typical fire that they had to fight.

"It was a fire inside a wall, the front facing wall that was difficult to access. So, our crews worked quickly and efficiently and were able to access that area and put the fire out."

The investigation is ongoing at this time, and the cost of estimated damage is not known.

Shea reports there were no injuries as a result of the incident.
