NORWICH TOWNSHIP - No one was hurt after a fire broke out at Schep's Bakery in Norwich Township.
All four of the Township's fire stations responded to the blaze at around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Director of Fire and Protective Services Derek Van Pagee says they were able to quickly get the fire under control.
"I would say under an hour just to troubleshoot using our thermal imaging cameras to strategize where the hot spots were. Once we were able to establish that, we were able to extinguish it using water application."
Van Pagee says they were able to prevent the fire from spreading throughout the building.
"The fire was contained to the attic. Firefighters managed to save the building through strategic water application. They gained access to the attic, hit the spot right where it needed to be and kept the fire and small contained and did exactly what we wanted which was save the building."
Van Pagee says the cause is still under investigation and there is no word regarding the damage estimate at this time.
