A hot car is no place for your pet, leave them at home!
OXFORD - With no end in site to the hot humid weather, pet owners out there are reminded to leave their furry friends at home with water and a fan or air conditioning.
A hot car is no place for your pet and when they are stuck inside one they can suffer serious health issues that can even lead to death. It does not take long for a car to heat up to dangerous temperatures, even in the shade. This summer police have dealt with a few cases where people called them about pets being left in hot vehicles in Woodstock and Oxford County.
To report an animal locked in a hot vehicle, call 3-10-SPCA or the police. You should also stay near the vehicle to keep an eye on the animal and have someone page the pet owner.
