WCI to Host Concert for the Cure Tomorrow

The show starts at 7:00 p.m. and donations will be accepted for Sakura House.

WOODSTOCK - It's another year for the Concert for the Cure at WCI.

It will takeover the newly renovated auditorium this Friday with a 7:00 p.m. showtime.

The show will feature music and theatre students from the past and present, along with special performances from Artistic Movement Dance Studio and the STAGES Senior Company.

WCI teacher Laurie Schultz says the Concert for the Cure first started back in 2008.

"It was almost like a tribute concert for one of the co-founders of the music theatre program, Amanda MacDonald, who died of cancer. So we have been doing it ever since then and since 2016 all of the proceeds have been going to Sakura House."

The concert has raised over $15,000 for Sakura House since then.

The show is free to enjoy, but donations for Sakura House will be accepted at the door.

Laurie Schultz stopped by the Heart FM studio with Cadence Waters and Riley Hales on Wednesday April 23rd. You can listen to the full interview below:
