You may experience discoloured water over the next couple of days if you live in Thamesford.
THAMESFORD - Thamesford residents may experience discoloured water over the next couple of days.
The County started flushing the local watermains yesterday and the work is set to continue until Friday.
Crews will be hard at work between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day. You should avoid using water between those times if you want to prevent the dirty water from being drawn into your household lines.
If you do experience the discoloured water, you don't need to worry because there is no health concern. All you have to do is turn on an outside tap or a laundry faucet that's not connected a water softener once the work is done. This will flush your household water lines.
The discolouration is caused by iron in the water and it's only an aesthetic problem.
