An annual celebration is back as VON shows support and gives thanks to those who make the services run.
OXFORD COUNTY - VON Oxford is onboard to celebrate VON Week.
The week shows support and celebration for the volunteers and staff who make VON services run. It is held every year during the week of Queen Victoria's birthday, and Volunteer Coordinator Janet Somers says there is a special theme.
"At the Heart of Care is the 2025 theme, this year for the VON, meaning the staff, the volunteers, the caregivers are truly the heart of care. So, we really, really want to honor them this week."
Somers mentions the week officially got underway yesterday, but an event marked was held for the proclamation of VON Week.
"So today, as a matter of fact, we had our flag raising at Museum Square. So, you know, capture the care is the other little hashtag for this week as well."
Somers adds there will be a garden party at Sakura House, along with many other events this week.
