VON Oxford offers 19 programs including Meals on Wheels and the Sakura House Hospice. Over 200 people volunteer their time with the organization.
OXFORD COUNTY - VON Oxford is celebrating all the incredible staff and volunteers and their courage to take action during VON Week.
Kinesiologist Eliza Reid says that the Victorian Order of Nurses has a long history in Oxford County.
“We’ve been doing this for a little over 100 years, we offer nursing supports as well as community services supports to members of the community.”
Volunteer Coordinator Janet Sommers says that their tagline is Live Every Day to Your Fullest.
"We do that by delivering hot nutritious meals with our Meals on Wheels program, we make sure people get to their medical appointments through our transportation programs, and we have blood pressure clinics all across Oxford County so people get their blood checked for free and that's run by volunteers as well."
VON Oxford offers 19 programs and it has over 200 volunteers. VON week is an annual event that helps to educate and encourage community involvement in the County.
