WOODSTOCK - Donations are still being accepted for the VON Sakura House Lights of Love fundraiser.
For a minimum donation for $25, you can have the name of a loved one written on a memorial lantern which will be lit the evening of December 3rd. You can also make a donation to honour someone special in your life whether it's a friend, a caregiver or a frontline worker.
The lantern lighting is going to be livestreamed over Facebook this year. It's going to include a memorial ceremony and lots of holiday music.
All of the proceeds will be going to the Sakura House Recovery Fund to help cover increased costs related to the pandemic. This includes the cost of extra cleaning and nursing care.
You can donate to the Lights of Love fundraiser online here or you can mail a cheque to VON Oxford (550 Ingersoll Ave, Woodstock, Ontario, N4S 5Y3). Make sure you include your loved ones name and you also have the option of submitting a special memorial message.
