A province wide program has direct impact across Oxford County.
OXFORD COUNTY - VON is making an expansion within their Ontario Student Nutrition Program.
The Southwest Region is continuing to expand their Cultural Enhancement project. Supervisor of Community Relations for the OSNP, Danielle Findlay talks about why the changes are being done to the program.
"We are really making a concerted effort to ensure that programs are starting to include foods that are reflective of different cultures and more diversity, because all students should have an opportunity to feel represented and affirmed at school."
Findlay mentions the direct impact seen in Oxford County from this program.
"There are 39 schools in Oxford County, about 13,000 students that we support regularly, and OSNP actually provides support for about 2.2 million meals and snacks per year in Oxford County."
