WOODSTOCK - Winter is right around the corner and the City of Woodstock is now looking for volunteers for the Snow Buddies program.
It partners local volunteers with someone in their community who needs some help shoveling their driveway and sidewalks over the winter. It could be a senior or someone living with a disability.
You have to be over the age of 12 to volunteer and it's a great way for local high school students to get their community hours.
The City will be hosting three volunteer training sessions over the next couple of weeks and you can find the dates and times below.
Saturday October 16th - 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday October 19th - 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Sunday October 24th - 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
It's free to sign up and you can do so online here or by calling 519-421-7665.
Residents looking for help shoveling this winter can sign up for the Snow Buddies program online here or by calling 519-421-7665. Woodstock's snow removal bylaw requires all property owners to clear their driveway and sidewalks within 24 hours of a winter storm.
