A video series has been launched by Southwestern Public Health. They have started a series called Vital Perspectives, which is to raise awareness of multiple health related issues in the communities they serve.
OXFORD COUNTY - Southwestern Public Health is unveiling a new program.
Vital Perspectives was launched today (Thursday, August 31st), which is to tell stories regarding multiple health issues.
CEO of Southwestern Public Health, Cynthia St. John says the story released today deals with a big issue being felt across the region.
"Our first story in Vital Perspectives is around the opioid crisis our community is facing."
St. John says they picked this particular story as their first, as it is International Overdose Awareness Day.
She mentions that the first story is one that hopes to bring awareness to people about the ongoing drug addiction crisis.
"We're hoping that people who will watch this video will come away understanding that addiction is really multifaceted. There is a lot of different elements involved in substance use."
St. John says that other areas going to be covered in the video stories include, health and homelessness, inclusion and belonging, as well as climate change and health.
You can find this video story, and the others on the Southwestern Public Health website.
