The Markus Family Farm will be opening the barn doors to the public tomorrow to give you an appreciation of what goes on at a dairy farm.
BEACHVILLE - For those who live in the Dairy Capital of Canada and have never actually been to a dairy farm here is your chance.
The Dairy Farmers of Ontario's 50th anniversary is this Saturday at the Markus Family Farm in Beachville. You will learn all about dairy farming, get up close and personal with a cow, see a live milking, and sample dairy products. Chair of the Oxford County Dairy Farmers' Committee Catherine Agar tells Heart FM you will learn all about dairy farming and get up close and personal with a cow. "This is a great chance to open the barn door, and you can come and visit, and see what happens on a modern dairy farm; see the cows, tractors, and we are going to have lots of free dairy products to sample as well with ice cream, milk, and cheese."
Everyone is invited to come and check out the operation on Saturday from 3 - 8 p.m. at the Markus Family Farm on Clarke Road in Beachville. They are asking that you register for your free ticket and you can do so at www.eventbrite.ca/e/visit-a-dairy-farm-tickets-16624262617. Dogs are not permitted and they ask you to wear comfortable clothes. They have plenty of room for strollers.
