The Norwich Merchants ended the Woodstock Navy Vets three game winning yesterday evening.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock are 0-2 in the Battle of Highway 59 against the Norwich Merchants this season. The Vets three game winning streak was broken by the Merchants yesterday evening where they lost 2 - 0. This is the Vets 33 second straight loss to the Merchants dating back to 2010.
The Vets has numerous chances, making 37 shots at the Norwich net, which Merchants goalie Justin Pacheco stopped enroute to his first shutout of the season.
Vets goalie Michael Roefs faced 18 shots in goal and allowed two goals which was good enough to move up to 3rd in the league with a 1.98 Goals Against Average.
The Navy Vets and Merchants sit tied for 5th place in the standings with identical 4-6 records …
The Vets will attempt to get another win streak going Sunday afternoon when they travel to Delhi to face the last place Travellers at 2:00pm they shutout the Travellers 4-0 last Friday at Southwood Arena.
