The suspects left the scene and the victim was transported by friends into Paris and police were alerted at a local gas station. The man was transported to a local hospital by ambulance and is currently in stable condition.
BRANT COUNTY - Two Brantford men are facing multiple charges including one with attempted murder after a man was stabbed at a party in Paris.
Brant County OPP, West Region Emergency Response Team Criminal Investigations K-9 Unit and Forensic Unit arrived at a home on Bishopsgate Road and an altercation took place which resulted in the victim being stabbed.
The suspects left the scene and the victim was brought into Paris by friends and police were alerted at a local gas station.
The man was then transported to a local hospital by ambulance and is currently in stable condition.
Police have arrested and charged Brayden Bauman from Brantford with the following charges contrary to the Criminal code of Canada:
Attempt murder Section 239(1) (a)
Careless use of a firearm Section 86(1)
Pointing a firearm Section 87
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose Section 88
Carrying a concealed weapon Section 90
Unauthorized possession of a firearm Section 91(1)
Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order Section 117.01(1)
Assault Section 266
Police have also arrested and charged 20 year-old Matthew Powless with the following charges contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada:
Aggravated assault Section 268
Assault with a weapon Section 267(a)
Fail to comply with a recognizance of bail Section 145(3) x 3
Assault Section 266
They will appear in a Brantford courtroom at a later date to answer to their charges.
