A recent retreat has raised red flags for people across the Thames Valley District School Board.
THAMES VALLEY - Thames Valley District School Board might have to answer questions.
Recently, 18 senior administrators went on a strategic retreat to Toronto. Thames Valley Teacher Local President, Craig Smith shares his thoughts as to why the retreat is raising flags.
"I think the reason it has resonated so profoundly, is that this event takes place and the way it takes place against a backdrop of a board that has some fairly significant budget issues."
Cuts have been made to the frontlines, and Smith shares his thoughts.
"I think the concerns that will be shared by listeners in Oxford County are shared by parents throughout the district."
Smith says proposed cuts totalling $11 million dollars will impact classrooms, schools, to support for teacher programs, and supports for students, especially in the special education program.
