School is in! The Thames Valley District School Board announced this morning that all elementary schools will be open today (Friday) and classes will be running as scheduled for the students. Transportation is running as normal as well. This, after the Ontario Labour Relations Board ruled this morning against tens of thousands of public elementary school teachers across the province. They were threatening to stage a one-day walkout today against Premier Dalton McGuinty's Liberal government for imposing two-year contracts on them. The board says such a walkout would be an illegal strike and the teachers' union says it will obey the ruling and ask teachers not to walk out. The TVDSB said in their release this morning, "We understand and appreciate parents? concerns and patience throughout this challenging process. Please continue to monitor First Class and the TVDSB website for the latest information on this labour issue". Click here to visit the school board website.
