Nighttime lows are set to drop to minus 15, and the wind chill will make it feel like minus 23. That is why the cold weather alert has been issued.
SWPH - Southwestern Public Health has issued a cold alert.
The Health Unit covers Oxford County and has issued the alert because temperatures are forecasted to drop to minus 15 and feel like minus 23 tonight. These temperatures will continue into Friday, before warming up for the weekend. During a cold snap, people are encouraged to do things to keep themselves from getting frostbite or hypothermia. SWPH says such conditions could affect older adults, infants, young children, outdoor workers, people who like hiking or skiing, and those who might be experiencing homelessness.
If you would like more information about frostbite or hypothermia, you can visit the Southwestern Public Health website.
