Sunday beginning at 6:30pm a ceremony will be held to light the grounds of Alexandra Hospital
INGERSOLL - It is time to let your love for someone shine in Ingersoll.
The Alexandra Hospital Foundation will be holding their Tree of Lights Celebration on Sunday. Executive Director of the Alexandra Hospital Foundation Robin Schultz says this is a great idea of that hard to buy for person. "It's $10 on the commemorative tree and that tree, we call it commemorative tree, because people actually light lights in honour of people and in memory of people. So we say coloured lights are in honour of people and the white and yellow lights are in memory of people."
There are two trees - one the second tree, the Canon Griffin Memorial Tree, "In Memory Of..." bulbs cost $50.
The money donated from the Tree of Lights will go towards buying life saving equipment. "A lot of people don't realize that hospitals don't receive funding from the government for equipment," says Schultz. "So all our equipment needs at the hospital are acquired by donations and sponsorships and donations. So last year we raised about $32 000 and this year we have a trauma stretcher on our list and it's about $13 000."
The ceremony will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Alexandra Hospital. It includes carol singing, Fellowship, Refreshments, and even Santa Claus himself. Heart FM's Dan Henry will be there are well.
