OXFORD COUNTY - Get ready to eat a lot of cookies this week in Oxford County.
Tim Hortons is bringing back their popular Smile cookie campaign today. You can purchase the cookies for $1.00 and all of the money will be donated to charity. Each Tim's location in the Province can pick their own charity to donate to. All of the Tim's locations in Woodstock and Ingersoll have teamed up and are once again donating their funds to Sakura House and the United Way Oxford.
Store owner Leslie Farrell says they sold a lot of cookies last year.
"Last year we were lucky and we were able to give each charity $40,000, meaning Woodstock ate 80,000 SMILE cookies. So this year with Ingersoll coming on board and two new Tim's locations in Woodstock, we are hoping to sell $90,000 cookies this year."
Farrell says people people are already talking about SMILE cookies.
"I even had a guy today order 6 and he is going to pay $100 for 6 cookies because the charities are so great this year."
The Tim's in Thamesford is once again supporting Andrew's Legacy. This year they are hoping to sell 10,000 cookies in Thamesford for the cause. Cara Schmidt is the co-founder of Andrews Legacy and says they are hoping to top last years total.
"Last year we sold 9,645 cookies and this year our goal is to break the 10,000 mark. As of today, we have pre order forms up on our social media page and we are delivering to anybody who wants it. It is a great time to show those people you have spent time with that you love them and bring smiles to people."
