Homes and vehicles targeted in Sweaburg crime spree.
SWEABURG -- Oxford OPP are investigating a rash of thefts and vandalism that occurred in the village of Sweaburg over the weekend.
Police say between Friday night and early Saturday morning, unknown suspects targeted residences and vehicles on Chele Mark Crescent, Lisas Drive and Glenn Avenue.
The culprits made off with cash, a wallet, CD's and a Sony radio. They also vandalized vehicles with graffiti and left a large bench on the roof of a parked car causing paint damage. Items were also taken from vehicles and homes, smashed and destroyed in the neighbourhood. Police also noticed five mailboxes knocked over in front of residence on Glenn Ave.
OPP are asking anyone with information to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). They are also asking residents who have video surveillance on their property in that area to check out the footage during that time frame and notify police if anything of interest was captured.
