Guys and Dolls will make its Theatre Woodstock debut this Friday.
WOODSTOCK - Theatre Woodstock is excited to announce it's upcoming production of Guys and Dolls.
Cast and crew have been preparing for their debut since September. The long-awaited opening night is on Friday, and will continue to run this Saturday and Sunday. The show is scheduled to continue into next weekend.
It will showcase approximately 60 local talents including actors and musicians. Producer Tracey Frank highlighted what we can expect in the orchestra.
"We have an orchestra of 12 players. Winds, brass, percussion, and a bassist. We also have a lovely pianist who is local to Woodstock."
Students from Fanshawe College's Cosmetology and Hairstyling programs have also volunteered their skills to the production.
Director Sylvie Weir gave a tease into the plot of the show.
"It's a story about a group of gamblers and the group of women who fall in love with them. Wrapped together in all the shenanigans they get up to. It's really classic musical theater. Set in the 1950s, written in the 1950s. You've got some of the iconic musical theater numbers. Things that people who are deep into the theater world will recognize."
