Zorra Township Council will be considering a proposal from students for a skate park in Thamesford.
THAMESFORD - Zorra Township wrapped up local government week by hosting another council meeting at a local public school.
Last month they hosted a meeting at the A.J. Baker Public School and on Tuesday they conducted business at the Thamesford Public School. Clerk Karen Martin tells Heart FM it was a great experience across the board.
"The response was great! Really responsive from both schools, council is still talking about it, the students were really well prepared - they all did delegations requesting various items throughout the township. The reaction from the students was great, you could tell they really enjoyed having council there, having the mayor there, they were really intrigued and they were asking all the right questions too."
Martin says one of the delegations was for a new skate park in Thamesford.
"Council was very keen to hear this idea, we do have another committee through the Lions Club who are working on a similar proposition for council and they are hoping that all of the ideas can come together and they can come back to council with a plan on how to fundraise some of the money and how much they would need from the Township."
