After a 4 day break, the jury for the 1st degree murder trial of Michael Rafferty will resume seating inside London?s court house this morning. Justice Thomas Heeney instructed the jury last Friday ?legal issues? needed to be worked out between the defense and the Crown and did not want to waste the jury?s time not knowing when the arguments would finish. In spite of the legal arguments, several family members attended the proceedings Tuesday. Court is expected to resume at 10:00AM with further witness testimony for the Crown. An opening statement by the defense may come as early as next week now that the Crown has indicated to the courts they are nearly finished with their witness testimony.
