As we head into the new year, some of the region's council members are looking back on 2018.
SWOX- The end of 2018 is just days away but there are many things to look forward to in the new year for South West Oxford County Council.
Mayor David Mayberry says the construction of the Emergency Services building was among the highlights this year.
"We had a building there that was built rather rapidly after a fire back in the 1970s and no longer met the needs of the township, and so we wanted to create a building that not only dealt with the emergencies of today, but would also be capable of dealing with problems for the future."
He adds there are plenty of topics to cover in 2019.
"Certainly we need to look how do we improve connectivity in South West Oxford. We've got a lot of areas that has relatively poor internet service and we need to improve it."
Other items on next year's agenda include year-round services and infrastructure.
The new council meeting begins January 1st at 9:00am.
