UPDATE: United Way Oxford is proud to announce that the Supplies 4 Students fundraiser has achieved its goal of supporting each family that applied to the program.
The United Way was grateful for the three school boards in the area that helped to distribute the raised funds.
The program began in 2016 but this year achieved its highest record of students helped. Over 1300 students from 650 families were given $50 cards to either Giant Tiger in Ingersoll and Woodstock, or Staples in Tillsonburg and Woodstock.
OXFORD - Time is running out if you're thinking about applying for some financial assistance this back-to-school season.
Families have until this Friday to register for the Supplies 4 Students Program through United Way Oxford. Executive Director Kelly Gilson explains the program's vision.
"We know with the cost of everything escalating, there are a lot of families that are really struggling to get by. This program is intended to help those struggling families and to give them the dignity and the independence to get what they need for their children."
Registrants could receive a $50 Supplies for Students card to be used at either Giant Tiger (Woodstock and Ingersoll) or Staples (Woodstock and Tillsonburg).
Those interested in signing up for the program must do so online here before Friday, August 19th at 11:59 p.m.
United Way Oxford is also accepting cash donations in order to keep the program running. Those interested in helping out can donate online here or at the following locations:

- Starbucks (Woodstock and Tillsonburg)
