Downtown Woodstock will be bustling this weekend with Summer Streetfest on for the next four days. Dundas and surrounding side streets in the downtown core will be taken over by vendors, stages, and street performers. Event Coordinator Taylor Rutherford says Streetfest is a longstanding Woodstock tradition. "This has been going on since 1976 with the sidewalk sales, and as businesses have progressed, so has the festival and it's turned into this great summer street festival. It's great for the community because we bring in live entertainment and it's an opportunity to showcase local talent." Four stages are also set up that will feature live music and entertainment. Friday will be children's day with performers geared towards the little ones, especially in the morning. Saturday will be hilighted by Bikes & Blues with a bike parade down Dundas. Juno award winning Blues artist Jack de Keyzer performs at 8:30 Saturday night. On Sunday, classic cars take over the downtown with the Streetfest Cruise in support of Southgate Centre. And there will of course be food. Aside from the downtown restaurants offering their fare, Event Coordinator Taylor Rutherford says there will be some specialty treats available this year. "On Friday we will have a lobster vendor making lobster rolls with lobster that's being shipped in from Nova Scotia. It's going to be right on Finkle St. across from Museum Square. Beside him will be Sally who sells poutine and all that stuff...and there's going to be beaver tails." Click here for more details on events and showtimes.
