Registration is now open for the youth basketball tournament at CASS on Saturday November 30th.
WOODSTOCK - The Street Mayor Classic is returning to Woodstock.
This 3 on 3 basketball tournament is hosted by Why Not Us and the 9th annual event will be taking place at College Ave Secondary School on Saturday November 30th.
Coordinator, Duane Kumala-Thomas on the reasoning behind the name.
"The Street Mayor is Kurke White. He is an inspiration to many people in Woodstock. He's a well-known gentleman who no longer lives in Woodstock, he's moved on to Guelph now, but his impact is still large."
Kumala-Thomas says the tournament will last the entire day with a skills competition, and half-time show, where there will be information shared about Why Not Us. It is meant to be a fun day of games and learning.
He adds who can participate in the tournament.
"There's three divisions. Grade 7/8 being the elementary division, Grades 9 to 10 is the juniors, and Grades 11 to 12 is the seniors."
Kumala-Thomas says the tournament is co-ed and teams will be made up of 3 to 4 players. You can register as a full team or as a free agent.
