Stratford police are searching for the driver involved in a hit and run with a stolen SUV from Oxford County.
STRATFORD - Stratford police are searching for a man who fled the scene of a car crash at the intersection of Erie St. and Lorne Ave.
The crash happened yesterday afternoon when a red Ford SUV slammed into a Hyundai. The female driver of the Hyundai suffered a cut to the head and was transported to the hospital. The driver of the SUV tried to leave the scene by driving away, when he was unable to do so, he left on foot.
It turns out the SUV was stolen from Oxford County. Police are still searching for the suspect. He is described as a man in his 20's, wearing a black hat, black shirt or possibly a red shirt or jacket, black pants with a beard or facial hair. He was last spotted running towards Mike's Bowling Lanes.
If anyone has information regarding this incident or saw a suspicious male in the Nelson, Railway Ave, Chestnut St’s areas between 4 and 6 yesterday afternoon to please contact the Police or Crime Stoppers.
