INGERSOLL - The Town of Ingersoll is asking residents to stay off of municipally owned ponds and storm water management ponds.
Fluctuating temperatures means the ponds have a thin layer of ice and cannot bear much weight. They are asking residents to please avoid playing or skating on any of these ponds.
The Town is warning the public of the potential risk of falling through the ice and the extreme dangers that poses. \
The OPP have also issued a similar warning.
Considering skating or walking on the ice? Just remember that no ice is safe ice! #OPP have received several reports of people walking or skating on ice with open water. Please make sure YOU put your #safety as a priority! @NorfolkCountyCA @OxfordCounty #NorfolkOPP #OxfordOPP ^es pic.twitter.com/nvGOzI5ylO
