Sonia Palleck will be the ninth person to hit the stage during the Speaker Slam in Toronto tonight.
LONDON/TORONTO - A local orthodontist and author will be speaking in Toronto.
Sonia Palleck will be participating in the Speaker Slam, which is an inspirational speaking contest. She says she will have five minutes to deliver her speech.
"My speech is called "One Love," and it's about my own personal journey through racism, healing, humanity, and one love."
She mentions it isn't just evil people that suffer from racism, and that you can be a good person and still live in separation.
Palleck says friends and family will be able to show their support from afar.
"You can livestream the event for $20. You can have a watch party, so you can watch with your friends. You download your ticket and watch it on YouTube."
Tickets can be purchased online here.
Palleck adds, there are a total of five events in the contest, and if she is in the top two of her event, she will move on to the final in November.
Her event is tonight from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., and speeches are from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. She will speak 9th out of 10 people.
