With no one running against him, David Mayberry will return as Mayor of South-West Oxford.
SOUTH-WEST OXFORD - David Mayberry is happy to return as Mayor of South-West Oxford.
Mayberry has been acclaimed with no one running against him for the election in October.
Though he is happy to return, Mayberry was hoping to have to run for the position.
"I quite enjoy going door to door and finding the people and hearing what people are concerned about or what they agree with or don't agree with. So that part is disapointing for me, but that does take a month and a half or so to get over the township so I guess that frees me up to do some other work."
Mayberry says he has always been proud to serve the Township.
"I've actually been very very proud of South-West Oxford Council. I think it's a very balanced council and a very progressive, forward thinking council and I can understand why people could be relatively satisfied. But there's always new opportunity for people to voice other opinions and we want to hear them."
On the County side, Mayberry said that he would like to give someone else the chance to be the new Warden.
However he said if asked, he would take the reigns once again.
