Multiple restaurants will go head to head at Goff Gym to see who has the best soup in town.
WOODSTOCK - Domestic Abuse Services Oxford (DASO) is bringing back Soupstock for another year.
The event had been on pause previously, but this marks its second year back and the ninth Soupstock ever.
Several local restaurants are competing in this culinary competition, each one aiming for the coveted Golden Ladle award. Attendees will also have a say with the Peoples Choice Award.
Fundraising and Communications Coordinator for DASO, Sophie Foster, explains how it works.
"With your ticket you get to walk around and try whatever soups you want. Hopefully you'll try them all. This year we have nine restaurants So as you walk around and taste you'll have a score sheet to mark down what soups you like and what soups you don't like. After you're done tasting all the soups you like you can submit your ballot for the peoples choice award."
She adds they have a good variety of restaurants competing this year.
"So this year we have Finkle Street Tap and Grill, Iron Works, we have Craigowan again, Chris's Seafood, Charles Dickens, Upper Thames Brewery, Boston Pizza, Whisk and Roll, and also DASO."
All funds raised from the event will go towards DASO. You can buy advanced tickets at Whisk and Roll and YFM for $20 or $25 at the door on the day of the event.
Its all happening on March 26th from 11:30a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Goff Hall in the Community Complex.
Sophie Foster stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Friday March 14th. You can listen to the full interview below:
