Environment Canada has issued another Snow Squall watch for Oxford County today.
OXFORD COUNTY - Snow Squalls are expected throughout the day. Woodstock, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg are expected to experience significantly reduced visibility because of heavy snow combined with blowing snow.
The county is expecting an additional 10cm, potentially up to 15 cm of snow today. The strongest snow squall will affect the Goderich area and extends towards the City of London.
If you are traveling today, drivers should be cautious while on the roads as there is a potential of whiteout conditions due to the strong winds gusting up to 50km/h. Conditions are expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility.
OPP suggests drivers should adjust to the road conditions, or consider putting off non-essential driving until conditions improve. there are multiple road closures reported by the Ontario Provincial Police including portions of Highway 21, Highway 8, County Road 4 and County Road 25.
Weather conditions can vary considerably with snow squalls; it is common for clear skies to change to heavy snow within just a few kilometres. Visibility is also an issue, at times being reduced to near zero.
A snow squall warning is only issued when bands of snow form that produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
