Perth OPP are reminding residents that winter driving is still in affect after noticing a spike in speeders on sunny days.
PERTH COUNTY - Perth County OPP are reminding motorists to slow down and drive to the conditions.
They have noticed more speeders in the past couple of weeks, especially on days when you see dry pavement. The OPP want to remind motorists that winter driving conditions still exist and they do have plenty of snow covered and slippery roads.
Driving too fast for road conditions is the number one cause of winter collisions and the OPP are providing the following tips to keep you safe:
- Avoid distractions; motorists should stay in control of their vehicle at all times. Avoid sudden braking, accelerating or steering.
- Remember to allow extra time to travel to and from destinations.
- Remember to leave extra space between vehicles.
- Remember to use your full set of headlights every day during the winter months; daylight running lights are not as bright and do not engage your rear taillights making it difficult, and at times, impossible for drivers behind you to see your vehicle.
