UPDATE 2:05 p.m:
The severe thunderstorm watch in Oxford and Brant Counties has been upgraded to a warning.
Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.
These thunderstorms contain torrential downpours, which could dump 50 mm of rain in an hour or less in some areas.
Heavy rain can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads like we saw yesterday. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Large hail can damage property and cause injury.
Severe thunderstorms can also produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
