One man is facing serious life altering injuries, one woman is facing serious life threatening injuries and the family dog was also badly injured after a single vehicle crash in Norwich Township this morning.
NORWICH TOWNSHIP - Two people and a dog are facing serious injuries after a single vehicle crash on Highway 59 in Norwich Township.
Police say the pickup truck lost control and hit the ditch this morning. The truck hit a hydro pole and then rolled violently 8-10 times. The impact of the collision caused the passenger and the dog to be ejected from the vehicle. The passenger is facing serious life threatening injuries. The driver is facing life altering injuries and the dog was also badly injured.
Constable Ed Sanchuk says an investigation is ongoing.
"So we are on scene investigating right now, if you are in the area and travelling, you can expect the roads to be closed for the next 3-4 hours to allow for a further investigation. Our thoughts and prayers are going out to the family members that just had their door knocked on by the OPP. Obviously it is never an easy day when you have police officers knocking on your door, telling you that your loved ones have been seriously injured in a vehicle collision."
Highway 59 is closed between Maple Dell Road and Milldale Road. Sanchuk says the crash scene is pretty bad.
"Our thoughts and prayers right now are going out to the family members involved in this incident. Our first reponders, they did an amazing job getting these individuals quickly out of the vehicle, the one gentlemen who was in the vehicle and the one female who was ejected. The family dog I think has been taken to the vet to be treated as well and the dog did suffer injuries as well because of this collision."
