The hearing could last for several days as the courtroom hears victim impact statements from the survivors and families of the victims in the Toronto van attack.
TORONTO - The sentencing hearing for the man responsible for the Toronto van attack will begin today.
The 25-year-old was found guilty of 10 counts of first-degree murder and 16 counts of attempted murder last year.
Eight women and two men died on Yonge Street back on April 23rd, 2018. Another woman also died more than three years later due to the injuries she suffered during the attack. Fifteen people also suffered life altering injuries.
A Toronto courtroom will hear victim impact statements from several dozen people who have been affected by the attack, so the hearing could last multiple days.
