Woodstock Police are hoping someone from the public will come forward with information about two people of interest in an incident at a local bank.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police were on scene at the Scotia Bank on Dundas Street yesterday, after being notified of a suspicious incident.
Paul Hess of the Woodstock Police Service says that the suspects intentions were not carried out.
"They discovered that the interior doors to the bank had been locked at that time we received phone calls from the employees of the bank as well as citizens, advising us of what appears to be an attempted robbery."
Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying two people of interest that had their faces covered:
The first male, between 5'3"- 5'5", wearing a white hoodie, black pants, dark shoes, carrying a black backpack.
The second male, about 5'9", wearing a black hoodie, dark pants, dark shoes, and yellow gloves.
Both individuals were last seen entering an older model, silver Mazda Protege (or similar type vehicle).
Anyone with information is asked to contact Woodstock Police or Crime Stoppers.
UPDATE (July 26th @ 5:06 p.m.) - Woodstock Police have confirmed the suspicious incident was an attempted bank robbery.
