Fanshawe College has tapped into the military ranks for their next President. Peter Devlin, retired Lieutenant General of the Canadian Army has been announced as Fanshawe's incoming President. He will replace the retiring Howard Rundle on September 3rd. Devlin comes to the college with 35-years of experience in the Armed Forces, having commanded troops the Middle East, US, Europe and here at home. "We are excited to have Peter Devlin as the next President of Fanshawe College,? says Crispin Colvin, Chair, Fanshawe College Board of Governors in a news release. "The Board of Governors was struck by Peter?s unquestionable leadership abilities, his integrity, and his experience in managing with difficult budgetary constraints. Peter has made a career of leading and motivating people, and preparing them for the future ? areas in which Fanshawe also excels." "I am very pleased to be joining Fanshawe and look forward to bringing my team-oriented leadership experience to a new challenge in the post-secondary sector,? says Devlin. ?I am keen to help Fanshawe meet the challenges of continued growth and success for the future. With a focus on practical, applied, skills-based learning, the value of a College education is more important than ever before." Howard Rundle is stepping down at the end of August, after 17-years as Fanshawe's President.
