INGERSOLL - Ingersoll is the last stop on the map for the Oxford County Relay for Life.
It follows two other relays in Woodstock and Tillsonburg.
The two events raised over $225,000.
Community Fundraising Specialist with the Canadian Cancer Society of Oxford Liz Wismer-Van Meer says there are certain parts of the evening that really pull at the heart strings.
"Cancer doesn't discriminate - it doesn't know an age. I think that is what sometimes really brings that home to you, why we do what we do because you see these young children, we have children as young as 1-year old walking that survivor lap with their family."
Van Meer says the three events in Oxford County are similar in structure but they each add a touch of individuality.
"Ingersoll does things differently, they have quite a bit of entertainment. There are some things that you will notice that are a bit different in Ingersoll. One of the things is, they do have a quite a few of the younger group involved there. A lot of the high school students come out. You see that kind of energy changes on the track with them out there."
Van Meer tells us how grateful they are for all the support.
"We couldn't do what we do with Relay for Life if it wasn't for the support of our communities Tillsonburg, Woodstock and Ingersoll from the volunteers on the committee and the event day. From the participants, especially our survivors and our businesses that sponsor the event. We couldn't do what we do without them.
The Ingersoll Relay for Life will be running at the I.D.C.I track on Friday from 6 p.m. to 12 p.m.
