The $200,000 four year investment will be used for RBC Community Innovation Bootcamps that students can do over a weekend.
LONDON - Huron University College and RBC Foundation are teaming up to create a new Innovation Bootcamp.
The RBC Community Innovation Bootcamp is designed to accelerate students understandings of innovation principles. RBC has invested $200,000 over four years for this project.
Students can take part in the RBC Innovation Bootcamp over the course of one weekend. They will get an RBC Innovator Certificate to add to their resume, and a pitch competition will determine the $2,500 team prize winner.
Huron President Dr. Barry Craig says they are grateful for this gift from RBC.
“This $200,000 gift from the RBC Foundation will not only enable our students to develop their intellect and skills, but it also provides them with an opportunity to contribute to the broader community. At Huron, it is partnerships, like this, that contribute to our mission of challenging students to work towards their own academic goals, while equally addressing the needs of the people and community organizations around them.”
Huron will host two three-day Innovation Bootcamps per year, one in the Fall and one during Spring semester, with 30 students per session.
All Huron students will be eligible to apply to attend the RBC Community Innovation Bootcamp.
