WOODSTOCK - A Raise The Roof fundraiser is happening at the Dundas Street United Church this Saturday morning.
They are doing a yard sale and barbecue and proceeds will go towards fixing the church's roof, which is over 130 years old.
Fundraising committee member, Kelly Fitch says this is the first event they're putting on.
"We're having a yard sale. Members of the congregation have brought in items and we're going to be selling at the yard sale and our youth are going to be having a barbecue. So we're going to have jumbo Mr. Freezies and hot dogs, and drinks from pop to water to juices."
Fitch says this will be the first fundraiser the church will be putting on for this cause.
Donations have been made for this initiative within the church, however she says this is the first fundraiser that will be open to the public.
The event is free to attend and all food will be $1.00 each. Coffee will also be available.
"We hope to have other fundraisers going forward. We just hope to have a good time with the community, help raise a little money and help be together."
Parking will be available at the back of the church. People are asked to use the entrance on Oxford Street.
The fundraiser will go from 8:00am to 1:00 pm.
