OXFORD COUNTY - Septic owners in Oxford County are invited to another round of workshops hosted by our local Public Health.
The Septic Smart workshops started last year. They are designed to provide septic owners with information surrounding routine general maintenaince that you should be doing. Manager of Health Protection with Oxford County Public Health Peter Haywood says they had a great response from the seminars they hosted last year.
"Owners will learn about the importance of pumping out there septic tank, how to maintain their septic tank, they will learn about what to flush and what you can't flush and really just about routine general maintenaince you should be doing on your septic tank.
Haywood says they had a great response from the seminars they hosted last year.
"So we had a good group of people ask a lot of great questions related to the operation and maintenance of their septic system, we had public health inspectors at each event who provided their knowledge and expertise."
He adds they have four scheduled for this fall in Embro, Hickson, Norwich and Mount Elgin.
The first one is happening in Embro on October 10th at the Community Centre. The Hickson one is happening at the Central Public School on October 19th, Norwich is on October 25th at the Community Centre and finally in Mount Elgin at the Community centre on November 1st.
All of the seminars will take place between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.
