Ontario's Minister of Labour is expected to announce amended rules for construction site bathrooms in order to make them cleaner and safer.
ONTARIO - Changes could be on the horizon for bathrooms located on construction sites.
Monte McNaughton, Ontario's McMinister of Labour Immigration, Training and Skills Development, is set to announce amended rules for construction site bathrooms in order to make them cleaner and safer. There are reports that the province will also introduce women-only bathrooms on the worksites.
McNaughton says he has heard from several women working in the field, who believe the bathrooms on job sites are unsafe or unsanitary.
The Ministry of Labour conducted an inspection blitz last month, where 244 violations were reported across over 1,800 construction sites across the province. The most common issues included a lack of privacy, a lack of cleaning, and even no toilets provided in some cases.
He will be holding a press conference in London at 10:00 a.m. today alongside Charmaine Williams, the Associate Minister of Women's Social and Economic Opportunity.
You asked, we listened.
