Ontario confirmed 1,316 new cases of COVID-19 this morning along with 16 additional deaths and 1,212 resolved cases.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,316 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 312,428.
Ontario also confirmed 16 new deaths today bringing the total to 7,099. Another 1,212 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 294,018. The Province also confirmed over a 13 new variant cases over the weekend, this means we now have a total of 921 cases of the variant that originated in the U.K, 39 of the variant traced back to South Africa and 17 that originated in Brazil.
The province completed over 54,149 tests yesterday. We currently have 678 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 281 people in the ICU and 174 in the ICU on a ventilator. Most of the new cases continue to come from hot spot regions with 428 new cases in Toronto, 244 in Peel and 149 in York Region.
