The Province also confirmed 45 new cases of COVID-19 variants and 1,094 resolved cases. Testing numbers are up for the second straight day with 66,351 tests completed yesterday.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,138 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 297,311
Ontario is also reporting 23 new deaths today related to COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths in the Province to 6,916. Another 1,094 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 280,324. Ontario confirmed 54 new cases of the COVID-19 variant that originated in the UK, bringing the total number to 349.
The province completed 66,351 tests yesterday. We currently have 687 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 283 people in the ICU and 182 in the ICU on a ventilator. Most of the new cases are once again coming from hot spot regions with 339 new cases in Toronto, 204 in Peel and 106 in York Region.
