The province has announced another $500 million to help municipalities cover ongoing COVID-19 operational costs, and over $3.1 million of it will be staying here in Oxford County.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Ford Government is setting aside another $500 million to help Ontario's municipalities during the pandemic.
Minister of Municipal Affairs Steve Clark says the funding will help them cover ongoing operational costs related to COVID-19.
"Our municipalities have been clear that they need ongoing operating funding in 2021, and it's important that we step up and provide more financial relief. At the same time, we need the federal government to join us and provide our municipal partners with the additional support they deserve."
Over $3.1 million will benefit municipalities right here in Oxford County. You can find the complete funding break down below;

Town of Tillsonburg - $295,415
Town of Ingersoll - $213,710
Norwich Township - $156,960
Zorra Township - $132,661
Township of South-West Oxford - $121,264
Township of East Zorra-Tavistock - $114,620
Township of Blandford-Blenheim - $114,542
TOTAL - $3,111,640
The funding is being allocated based on MPAC household data and local COVID-19 cases reported between January 1st and February 18th. Each municipality can use their funding to address their own unique needs.
