A mediator will be present as the province and the union representing Ontario's education workers negotiate a new collective agreement today.
ONTARIO - The Ford Government will meet with the union representing Ontario's education workers today.
A mediator will be present as the two sides negotiate a new collective agreement in hopes of avoiding a potential strike.
The province has proposed a four-year deal that includes an annual wage increase of 2 percent for education workers making less than $40,000. Everyone outside of that wage bracket would receive a 1.25 percent increase.
The union is calling for annual wage increases of $3.25 per hour to help cover the impact of inflation. They would like to see designated Early Childhood Educators for every kindergarten class and $100 million toward the creation of new jobs.
